FTPR (Football Talent Promoters Rwanda) won a one-day tournament organized and sponsored by the sportsland Saint Joseph in the final. It was a competition for the U18s with participants from across the country.

The tournament was for players under 18 years old and took place on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Kigali Pelé Stadium. It featured schools and academies including: FTPR Academy, Birambo FA, Saint Joseph Kabgayi, and Sainte Marie René.

The teams were drawn against each other, leading to FTPR and Saint Joseph meeting in the final. FTPR won the tournament after a penalty shootout, finishing 4–3 on penalties. Sainte Marie René secured third place.

In addition to travel support provided to each team, Sportsland also gave every participating team two footballs. FTPR, as tournament winners, received four footballs, a trophy, and medals, all provided by Sportsland.
FTPR Academy was founded in 2014 by Mbabazi Alain, who is also a CAF B licensed coach and a graduate of Leipzig University in Germany, where he studied football coaching.

Alain told Rwanda Magazine that FTPR’s goal is to help young players develop their football talent through well-structured training and competitions. The academy works with children aged 6 to 18 years.

He also took the opportunity to thank Sportsland for continuously supporting sports development, especially focusing on young athletes who represent the future of Rwandan sports.
